Steven Robert has pinballed through the ranks of Detroit’s music scenes on sheer determination and a keen ear for music. His crossover from live musician to DJ (former keyboardist for Nice Device) is evident in the music he spins (Minimal Techno, House, Disco House). The Tour Detroit and Art F*g Inc resident wears his musical influences on his sleeve. Everything from Fleetwood Mac, Au Pairs, Roy Ayers, and 90s R&B can be directly and indirectly traced through the varied tone of his sets.
Steven took his first steps into the world of electronic music when he was studying Jazz Performance at Wayne State in 2002. the Few label head Dominic Arellano, a new found friend and classmate, informed him of an internship that was open at Transmat Records and Movement festival. Finding a good opportunity to open him up to some new experiences, he gladly accepted. Previously, his knowledge of Electronic music was severely limited. Upon taking the position, he was instantly immersed insome of the best electronic music the world had to offer and meeting some of the legends and producers who made it.
