In 7th grade, Ryan White got a guitar and it started from there. At first it was a Nirvana love affair, but after a few years he started writing more intricate and softer songs late at night. Melodies started to make more sense to him as he quietly hummed them lying in bed falling asleep. Hundreds of ideas and birthday songs later he finally gave into to the undeniable force that is the Beatles and things haven't been the same since.

After Ryan and the Few’s Records owner, Dominic Arellano, met at Wayne State’s music school, they became friends and would talk for hours about music. After moving back to Detroit from Ireland in 2007, Ryan started writing more and more music. Hearing Ryan’s/Adieu’s initial demo recording, Dominic signed them to the label in 2008.

Getting influences from Nirvana, Portishead, Beirut, Neutral Milk Hotel and yes, the Beatles, Adieu has an eclectic and warm sound. Pop and lyrical melodies, heartbreaks and romantic overtures abound, fill out the group’s aesthetic. The band originated as a two piece with Ryan White (autoharp, guitar) and Alyssa Jayne Mullen (keyboard) trading vocals, with Andrew Davis (bass) and Tommy Torgerson (drums) joining later to add even more depth of musicality.  Poised for a 2010 release, see them perform live and let Adieu conquer your heart.
